# DropJib > DropJib is statement delivery software for oil and gas operators. It takes the joint interest billing and revenue distribution runs your accounting system already produces, splits them into per-owner statements, delivers them by email and owner portal, collects payment, and keeps a provable record of every send. Tagline: Drop. Jib. Done. DropJib is a CynergyLabs Inc company. Building for the energy industry since 2018. DropJib is **not** an accounting system and does not replace one. It sits downstream of the operator's existing JIB and revenue accounting software, consuming the statement run that software already produces. It does not calculate decimals, allocate costs, determine suspense, or file 1099s — those stay upstream, unchanged. ## What it does - **Drag and drop to automate processing** — Drop the statement run your accounting system produced. DropJib reads it, finds the owner breaks, and splits a single multi-hundred-page file into one clean statement per owner. - **Send every statement with one button** — Joint interest bills and revenue statements go out by email and land in the owner portal at the same moment. No envelopes, no postage meter, no trip to the post office. - **Give owners real self-service** — Every working interest and royalty owner gets their own account: current statement, full history, documents, contact updates, and a way to pay what they owe. - **Run it in the cloud or on your own iron** — DropJib runs as a managed cloud service or installed onsite behind your own firewall, on the same schedule either way. ## The run, end to end - **01 Drop** — The file lands. Export the JIB run or revenue run out of your accounting system the way you already do. Drag the file onto DropJib — or point a watched folder at it and skip the dragging entirely. - **02 Read** — The run is understood. DropJib finds the owner breaks in the run, matches each block to an owner record, and reconciles the count against your run total before anything is sent. - **03 Burst** — One file becomes many. The run is split into individual owner statements — the pages that belong to that owner and nothing else. Every statement is a self-contained document with your cover sheet, your remit-to, and your branding. - **04 Deliver** — Everyone gets theirs at once. Statements go out by email and post to the owner portal in the same pass. Owners who have not consented to electronic delivery, or who never opened the last three, route to print and mail instead of quietly failing. - **05 Collect** — The money comes back. Working interest owners can pay their joint interest bill from inside the statement instead of cutting a check three weeks later. Payments post against the right well and the right owner. - **06 Prove** — You can show your work. Every run keeps a record: who was sent what, when it left, when it was opened, and what changed since last month. When a non-operator asks — or an auditor does — the answer takes a search box, not an afternoon. ## What it delivers - [Joint interest billing](/joint-interest-billing): A joint interest billing statement is the monthly invoice an oil and gas operator sends each working interest owner for their proportional share of the costs of drilling, completing, and operating a well, allocated according to the joint operating agreement and its COPAS accounting procedure. Delivered to: working interest owners and non-operating partners. - [Revenue and owner statements](/revenue-statements): A revenue or royalty statement — often called check detail — is the monthly document an oil and gas operator sends a royalty or mineral owner showing production volumes, prices, deductions, taxes, the owner's decimal interest, and the net amount paid for each property. Delivered to: royalty owners, mineral owners, and revenue interest owners. ## Where it sits DropJib consumes the printed statement run rather than integrating into the general ledger, so the accounting system matters far less than it usually would. It is built to sit downstream of systems including: PakEnergy / WolfePak, Quorum, Enertia, OGsys, Petrofly, SherWare, Avatar Systems, P2 / BOLO, Aries, QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, Excel. If a system can print a statement run, DropJib can take it. Inputs accepted: the PDF run, the print stream, a watched folder, and an owner master export. ## Deployment Cloud managed or Onsite. The workflow is identical either way; the difference is where statements and owner data physically live. ## Pages - [Home](/): what DropJib is, with a sample run processed live on the page. - [How it works](/how-it-works): the six stages of a run in detail, and the four ways a run can be handed to it. - [Joint interest billing](/joint-interest-billing): JIB statement delivery for working interest owners and non-operating partners. - [Revenue statements](/revenue-statements): royalty and revenue check-detail delivery for mineral and royalty owners, including electronic-delivery consent. - [Owner portal](/owner-portal): what a working interest or royalty owner sees and can do for themselves. - [Integrations](/integrations): exactly where the line sits between the accounting system and DropJib. - [Security and the delivery record](/security): data handling, and the per-owner record used to answer joint interest audits. - [Glossary](/glossary): definitions of the joint interest billing and revenue accounting vocabulary. - [Questions](/faq): the full FAQ. - [Start a trial](/trial): send one statement run and see what your owners would receive. - [About](/about): the company and how it thinks about the problem. - [Contact](/contact): how to reach us. ## Who it is for Oil and gas operators — specifically the people who handle the monthly statement run: controllers, JIB accountants, revenue accountants, and owner relations leads. The number that determines everything is how many working interest and royalty owners the operator sends to. ## Glossary - **Authorization for Expenditure (AFE)**: An authorization for expenditure is the cost estimate an operator circulates to its working interest partners before undertaking a well or a major operation. Partners approve or decline, and the AFE becomes the reference point against which actual costs billed on the joint interest statement are later compared. - **Cash call**: A cash call is a request by the operator for working interest partners to advance funds ahead of an operation, rather than being billed for the costs after they are incurred. Advances are credited against the partner's later joint interest billings. - **Check detail**: Check detail is the statement of production, prices, taxes, deductions, and decimal interest that accompanies a royalty or revenue payment. It explains how the payment amount was arrived at, property by property. - **Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS)**: COPAS is the professional body whose accounting procedures are commonly attached to or incorporated into oil and gas joint operating agreements. Its procedures define what may be charged to the joint account, standardized cost classifications for summary billing, and the fixed overhead rates an operator may charge per well by status, escalated annually. - **Decimal interest**: A decimal interest is an owner's share of a property expressed as a decimal fraction — for example 0.00781250. Costs on a joint interest bill and revenue on an owner statement are both allocated by multiplying the property total by the owner's decimal. - **Division order**: A division order is the instrument by which an operator and an interest owner confirm the owner's decimal interest in production from a property, along with the owner's identity, address, and tax details. Once in place, it governs how revenue from that property is divided and paid. - **Escheatment**: Escheatment is the legal process of turning unclaimed property over to the state after due-diligence efforts to locate the owner have failed and the statutory dormancy period has expired. For oil and gas royalties, dormancy periods vary by state and are commonly one, three, or five years. - **Joint interest audit**: A joint interest audit is a review, performed by or on behalf of non-operating working interest owners, of the charges an operator has billed to the joint account. It tests those charges against the joint operating agreement and its COPAS accounting procedure. - **Joint interest billing (JIB)**: Joint interest billing is the process by which the operator of an oil or gas well bills each working interest owner for their proportional share of the costs of drilling, completing, and operating that well. The operator pays costs up front and allocates them among partners according to their working interests as set out in the joint operating agreement and its COPAS accounting procedure. Each partner receives a monthly JIB statement itemizing their share. - **Joint operating agreement (JOA)**: A joint operating agreement is the contract among working interest owners in a property that names the operator, sets out the rights and obligations of each party, and governs how costs and revenues are shared. Its accounting exhibit — normally a COPAS accounting procedure — governs how the joint account is billed. - **Net revenue interest (NRI)**: A net revenue interest is an owner's share of production revenue after royalties and other burdens are deducted. It is distinct from working interest, which is the share of costs an owner bears. - **Non-operator**: A non-operator is a working interest owner in a property that another party operates. Non-operators pay their share of costs through joint interest billings and receive their share of revenue, but do not conduct operations. A company is frequently an operator in one property and a non-operator in another. - **Operator**: The operator is the working interest owner designated under the joint operating agreement to conduct operations on a property. The operator contracts for services, pays costs as they are incurred, bills the other working interest owners their proportional shares, and distributes revenue to royalty and interest owners. - **Owner relations**: Owner relations is the function inside an oil and gas operator that handles communication with royalty, mineral, and working interest owners — statements, payment questions, address and ownership changes, division orders, and tax documents. - **Owner portal**: An owner portal is a secure website where an operator's royalty and working interest owners log in to view their own statements, payment history, and documents, and to update their contact and payment details, without contacting the operator directly. - **Revenue statement**: A revenue statement is the monthly document an operator sends a royalty or revenue interest owner showing, per property, the volumes sold, price received, gross value, severance and other taxes, post-production deductions, the owner's decimal interest, and the net amount paid. - **Royalty interest**: A royalty interest is a share of production revenue free of the costs of drilling and operating the well. Royalty owners receive revenue and are not billed for operating costs, which is the fundamental difference between a royalty owner and a working interest owner. - **Statement bursting**: Statement bursting is the process of splitting one large print run into separate documents, one per recipient. In oil and gas, a monthly JIB or revenue run may be several hundred pages covering every owner in every property; bursting detects the owner breaks and produces a self-contained statement for each owner that can be emailed, posted to a portal, or printed on its own. - **Suspense**: Suspense is the term for revenue an operator holds because it cannot legally be paid out — commonly due to an unsigned or undeliverable division order, a title dispute, an unlocatable owner, or a minimum-payment threshold not yet met. Funds held in suspense are not reportable on a 1099 until released. - **Working interest (WI)**: A working interest is an ownership interest in an oil and gas property that carries the obligation to pay a proportional share of the costs of drilling, completing, and operating the well. Working interest owners are the parties billed on a joint interest billing statement. ## Contact - General: hello@dropjib.com - Trials and evaluation: sales@dropjib.com - Existing accounts: support@dropjib.com - Full content for AI systems: /llms-full.txt ©2018–2026 DropJib.
